5 Noteworthy Sales Cloud Features in the Salesforce Winter ’17 Release

The Salesforce Winter ’17 release is almost here! So it’s time to do a recap of my favourite features coming up in the new release. This release has a whopping 300 new and improved features that came from over 65,000 suggestions on the IdeaExchange! Here are my top 5 picks for the Winter ’17 release including customizable campaign influence, activity filters and the ability to add multiple people to campaigns quickly.

Relate contacts to multiple accounts

Contacts can now be connected to multiple accounts. Your sales reps will easily be able to manage the relationships between people and businesses. This many-to-many data model is available in Lightning Experience, Salesforce Classic and all versions of the Salesforce1 mobile app.

Customizable Campaign Influence

Out of the box, the Salesforce influence model attributes 100% of revenue credit to the primary campaign and 0% to any other campaigns.

Customizable campaign influence allows you to setup multiple ways of tracking the influence that marketing campaigns have on opportunities. This means improved alignment between sales and marketing as well as better business intelligence.

For example, you can create a model that would evenly distribute credit for an opportunity across all campaigns that the lead touched, or set up a model that distributes 100% of the credit to the last campaign the lead touched.

Activity Filters

Sales reps can now filter their activity timeline to show the content that’s most relevant to them. Reps can filter by date range, activity type or both. This feature is only available in Lightning Experience.

Maybe sales reps will add more leads to your marketing campaigns now that you can bulk add them from list views. From lead and contact views sales reps can effortlessly add up to 200 members at a time to a campaign by clicking on the add to campaign button and assigning a status to them. This feature is available in Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic
